ASP Defined: Application Service Providers
Application Service Providers, provide applications for rent or lease to customers for a reocuring fee. These ASPs will host the applications on servers located in a data center(s). These servers employ Thin Client Software, such as (Microsoft Windows 2000 Terminal Services and Citrix MetaFrame), enabling customers to access these applications over the internet, or through a Virtual Private Network and/or dial-in access. This model is designed to reduce overall cost of ownership and ease of access and deployment.
